This is a photograph of my father, one of 3 I have. He enlisted in the name of Harris, which was his mother’s name. I remember as a child him proudly polishing his medals preparing for the Anzac Day march. He was unable to march every year as he worked shifts. How clearly I remember the marchers stepping out to the bands, the excitement to us kids when the Scotties appeared. And the clinking of the marchers medals in the lull between bands. Thank God for these young men who fought for us, may it not have been in vain
